From Different Lineages of Reiki:

If you come from a different lineage than Usui, you need to start at First Degree as each lineage (eg. Angelic, Karuna, Kundalini, Tibetan Reiki) has a completely different initiation system.  In effect, other forms of Reiki are different modalities.

For Usui Reiki students:

If you would like to take our First Degree class to refresh your training from another teacher, or see a different perspective, we offer a 10% discount for you with a Reiki First Degree/Level 1 certificate or other valid proof of attendance of an Usui Reiki 1 class. Please kindly indicate this to Shin when registering for your workshop.

 on to Second Degree:

For students interested in Second Degree, please first make sure you come from the Usui/Takata lineage.  If not, you need to resit First Degree as above.

Guidelines to consider taking a fresh class with us:

1. Was your First Degree class much less than 10 hours in length?

2. Was your First Degree class bundled with Second Degree or even Master's training at the same time?

3. Was your First Degree class bundled with other modalities or therapies?

If yes to any of these, you should consider beginning at First Degree to build a strong foundation for the subsequent levels.

For Usui/Takata students going on to Third Degree/Teacher's Training:

For the Third Degree or Teacher's training, you need to have a strong alignment and foundation with the lineage of Reiki we teach.  You need to resit Second Degree with Shin before you can be eligible for Third Degree.  Please note that Teacher's training is not automatic on completion of all previous levels and we reserve the right to decline your application for whatever reason.
